Usually, when one thinks about play themes, toy vehicles and replicas, Danish toy company, LEGO comes to the mind. However, German toy maker Playmobil also makes a range of exciting playsets for kids (although they are not as well-known as Lego).
Playmobil Range of Toys
Playmobil, owned by the Brandstätter Group based in Franconia (Germany), has been creating toys since 1974. Almost all their toys are manufactured in Europe adhering to the highest quality and safety standards.
The most well-known PLAYMOBIL toy is the human figure with a smiling face; these measure 7.5cm tall and are designed to easily fit the small hands of children; the company has already sold billions of such play figures across the globe.
The company produces a wide range of play themes, play sets and accessories such as racetracks, dollhouses, pirate ships, children‘s hospitals, animal sets and more. Playmobil playsets encourage children to unleash their creativity and imagination while having hours of fun.
Unlike Lego, Playmobil has a less extensive range of toys; however, some of their licensed vehicles and figurines are highly sought after. In recent years, Playmobil has also been introducing toys for grownups and adults as well.
Playmobil licensed toys, especially the toy vehicles come with realistic lights and sounds making them look like the real thing.
Playmobil Mars Expedition Set
This Playmobil Mars Expedition playset comes with everything that children (ages 6 to 12) need to launch their own mission to Mars (also known as the Red Planet). The play set inlcudes two astronauts, realistic looking Mars rover with working light and sounds, drilling station and research laboratory. The drill in the playset is used to look for minerals, the drill attachment can be replaced with the gripper arm to pick up an object. The astronauts can use the maneuverable Mars trike to cover shorter distances on the planet, carrying the rock samples on the trike to the lab for inspection.

The Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise is a 3 ft. long, 150-piece space ship that can be used for playing or as a centerpiece model. Its common for farmers to go out on their tractor to collect bales of straw, skillfully pick them up using the fork and transport it back to the barn. Now your kids can pretend to do the same with this toy. This set includes one figure, tractor and trailer, hay bales, shovel, and other accessories. You can remove the trailer from the tractor if you want to only take the tractor through the fields.
