While not the most sophisticated, the Stinky Pig Game is extremely popular. Here’s how to play the game.
Why is the Stinky Pig Game so Popular?
I think the simple reason for the huge popularity of this game is that it is very simple to play, and yet it so much of fun. The company has already sold over one million units of this game and it continues to be a favorite game for kids.
Even though the instructions say that the game is for children aged 6+, I think it can be played by the entire family.
Stinky Pig Game Game Rules
Components: The various components (parts) of the game include the Stinky Pig, 20 Tokens, Die, Instructions.
Main objective of the Game: You need to pass the Stinky Pig quickly and shouldn’t be holding the pig when he farts/toots.
Setup for the Game: All the players sit in a circle and place the Stinky Pug, Die and the tokens in the center.
How to Play the Game
The first person to play (we let the youngest one to start first) holds the Stinky Pig in one hand the Die in the other hand. The person has to press the pig’s belly which will make him start singing. As soon as he does that, you need to roll the Die.
The Die has indications which will tell you whether to pass the Pig to the ‘left’ or to the ‘right’. If the Die lands on ‘left’, hand the Pig and the Die to the player on the left; give it to the person on the right if the die lands on ‘right’.
You need to roll and pass quickly because at some point in time, the Pig is going to fart (pass gas) and make a tooting sound.
You don’t want to be holding the Stinky Pig when he does that because then you have to pick a Token from the pile (the winner in the end is the one with the fewest tokens) and you need to start another round of play by pressing the pig’s belly.
The winner is the one who has the fewest tokens (there could be multiple winners).
